Why I am choosing cruelty free beauty

April 22nd is Earth Day so it could not be a better time to share this with you.

Now, I am not going to lie, I am quite appalled at the human race (myself included), at what we are doing to this incredible earth. We have only been here a fraction of time, yet we are killing every beautiful, natural thing around us at an astonishing speed.

Something in particular that I simply cannot get my head around; is how we can so nonchalantly take innocent animals and use them for testing purposes. I have only become fully aware of the scale of this in recent months to years-ish, and I admit that I am at fault for not paying attention sooner. However now I understand the impact, I am doing my very best to start changing this world for the better, in my own little way.

I do not believe that humans deserve animals. Animals are the most innocent souls, that want for nothing but to survive. Yet because they do not have a voice to ask us to stop, we carelessly exploit their existence for our own selfish desires.

There are simple ways that I can start to make a difference and one of those is just being aware of the products that I buy and use. Vegan and cruelty free brands are slowly starting to push their way to the forefront of the consumer market and I have made it my mission to wipe the negative brands out of my daily routine.

I have recently discovered some amazing new vegan beauty brands and one in particular has made my cruelty free routine super easy, they are known as Grüum.

Grüum are taking the beauty industry by storm with their amazing, reasonably priced and cruelty free products, that have been carefully crafted from the vision of an extremely driven and daring group of friends from Manchester.

I was very kindly sent a huge range of skincare and razor products from the team at Grüum, you can see everything I received in my unboxing vid here. Not only are their products natural, never harmful, vegan and cruelty free, they are also committed to saving our planet.

All of their packaging is made from recycled materials, all of which can then be recycled again at home. And for razor blades, you can send them back to Grüum for free and they will recycle on your behalf.

Their packaging is simple, yet smart and the products are even smarter. They smell and feel amazing on my skin, whilst still being free from artificial fragrances and because their products are produced within the UK, they are keeping their carbon emission low.

There are so many other incredible cruelty free brands out there and it is so easy to check. Thanks to PETA, they have created a very simple search database, that can be used to find brands that officially DO and DO NOT test on animals. Click here to give it a try, I am sure the results will shock you.

Thank you for reading and Happy Earth Day for yesterday, lets be the generation that saves our planet.

P.S. I was gifted some products by the team at Grüum, however this post is not an ad. I have written this post from the heart, regarding something I truly believe in. I have just chosen to feature this brand as an example in this post.
